The smell of watermelons, the feeling when you head out post-shower with a floral fragrance in your hair, the cool breeze in the heat and orange popsicles – keeping the fact aside that I dread heat, summers are beautiful and so much fun. Especially when you are at home listening to something like this and taking an extended nap after a sumptuous meal; or going out in the evening at the sunset in a pretty floral dress. My version of summers. I'm sure you have your own.
Hope you enjoyed the pictures. I promise to be back soon with yet another post for all you lovely people. Till then, follow me here. And yeah! Happy Sunday!

“The time to relax is when you don’t have time for it” – Jim Goodwin

Easier said than done for workaholics like me who rarely tend to take a break. But like I promised myself last year, I have been scheduling myself for little breaks to unwind.  Last month, I was invited by the O2 Spa at Novotel to review their spa and beauty services. I was allowed to choose any service of my choice. I chose the Balinese Massage and a Coco Butter Deep Moisturizing Wrap which I was very excited to try.
For the massage, the masseuse used lavender oil that is meant to leave a calming effect and induce sleep. Happens to be the essential oil for my zodiac (Gemini). The massage lasted for about 60 mins and every stroke was extremely relaxing. It was followed by steam that lets the oil soak into the skin completely and eases one's mind, body and soul. Such a luxuriating experience!
The next treatment carried out was the Coco Butter Deep Mositurizing wrap. The masseuse got the yummiest smelling coco butter and the mix was applied all over the skin. I was literally wrapped in cellophane so the coco worked on my skin for 30 mins. That followed a hot shower and a ginger herb tea which was extremely refreshing. The whole treatment left me completely rejuvenated. Plus, the fact that it is located at Novotel makes it a great choice if you are planning for a stay or a just want to spend a day by the pool under the palm trees and have some great food.
Wore a white and blue striped dress with a sleeveless shrug knotted at the waist for a cool resort vibe and a dash of grey on my eyes.
With a rejuvenated soul and a relaxed mind & body, we returned, only to come back and throw ourselves into our comfiest beds and wake up the next morning after a good 10 hr sleep.  After the continuous shoots I’ve had recently,  it’s probably time I go for another pampering experience. Much needed.

Moving away from dark hues and slowly transitioning my closet into a summer-ready one. Think whites, pastels, florals and lots of airy and light fabrics. Made two loose braids in this post and wore a pinkish-peachy shade which I'm absolutely in love with. My take on Summer 2016! What is yours?

A lot of pieces from I Dress for the Applause’s wardrobe including clothes, shoes and accessories are worn more than once in the posts. It doesn’t mean I don’t own anything apart from the ones that are featured in the posts or I’m too lazy. The reason is that I invest in stuff that goes with a lot of looks. There was a time when I rarely used to repeat a dress. In fact I was known for it. Probably that was due to my lack of experience. And that led to quite a huge collection of outfits and accessories with no space to store them. And every piece was too good to part ways with.
As I grew, I realized there isn’t always a need to shop something for every occasion. I learnt to style every piece differently without making them look repetitive. It’s so inspiring when even style icons like Olivia Palermo don’t shy away from recycling their wardrobe. I feel it’s all about pairing things interestingly every time and challenging yourself to not repeat the entire look - the same dress with the same jacket or scarf, the same top with the same skirt, denims or palazzos. Unfortunately, I do come across a lot of people doing that, which is quite sad. I think it all comes down to how much one enjoys dressing up.  Also when shopping, I always go by what the legendary Karl Lagerfeld said- “Buy what you don’t have yet, or what you really want, which can be mixed with what you already own. Buy only because something excites you, not just for the simple act of shopping.” Be wise.

Coming to this look, I’m wearing all of my favorite colors - Black, White and grey with my comfy lace-up shoes.

Currently listening to Godless by The Dandy Warhols and so damn addicted to it!

Hope you liked the look. Will be back soon with new posts for summer. Till then, follow me here!

“Fashion is a mysterious energy, a visual moment- impossible to predict where it goes.” – Diane Von Furstenberg

Only a week to go for summers to officially begin. But the lack of time led to a slight delay in posting all the looks I have been doing this winter. This look ain't too very wintry, so I think it's kind of ok to post it now.
Here I’m wearing a crochet top layered with a light cardigan. Added a statement necklace to the look and a pair of frilly socks.
Also, made an attempt to do something different with my hair. Hope you like!
Will be back soon again. See you!

FEATURING

Crystal Drop Necklace - Rhea Jewelry

Top - Thrifted  |  Skirt – Koovs | Sandals – Styletag

I have always been picky about the projects I take up, the brands I associate with and the people I work with. With time, I have realized the importance of working with like-minded people even more which is extremely important for me to help create what is exactly envisioned. Also, I make sure that the brands I endorse are the ones I personally like and use rather than putting up things on the blog that do not resonate with my personal style.

Rhea is one such brand that I recently came across. I skimmed through their website only to find the most beautiful necklaces and earrings. Their sophisticated take on bold and fun jewelry drew me towards the brand, leading to a collaboration. Their collections feature an eclectic mix of crystals, glass, pearls and agates with the casual resin bangles and statement necklaces being their signature style. I found every single piece to be beautiful and exquisite in its’ own way. The statement earrings and collar necklaces are my personal favorites from their collection.

The crystal drop necklace featured in this post can be easily worn for a date, an evening soiree or to simply add a subtle statement to a plain outfit. The crystals somehow make me long for a water body- a clear ocean, sea. I could imagine myself wearing it on the beach with a little white tunic, sunkissed skin and wavy hair. Very bohemian like.

Hope you liked the post.

You can explore more of such statement pieces on their website and also follow them on Instagram and Facebook to check out the best of their collection. A piece of Rhea in your wardrobe will be always be your savior. Do keep one.
