I run a blog called ‘I Dress for the Applause’. Fashion has always been my biggest area of interest. I’m always on a look out for something new and get naturally drawn towards creativity. Conceptualizing my shoots, day dreaming, skimming through fashion magazines and exploring music is what I love doing the most. A complete lover of everything vintage.

I’m a Gemini
What typical traits do you have from your star sign?

If you could meet anyone in the world dead or alive who would it be?
A lot of people actually. I would want to meet the Olsen Twins and understand how they keep their personal style so interesting and see if we have anything in common since I share my birthday with them. I would also love to meet Victoria Beckham and get an understanding of the business of fashion, and Daria Werbowy, Kate Moss, Lakshmi Menon (who happen to be my favorite models) and get some lessons on modelling from them.

VANILLA TWILIGHT
- LOOKBOOK-

WEARING

Knit Top- Globus | Denim Shorts – Mango | Shoes – Koovs | Necklace –Old | Bag- Miss Bennett

I’ve been away from my blog for a li’l longer than I had planned. Blame the Mercury retrograde in my sunsign - most of my work got delayed. However, I’m not guilty about it since a break was really needed.  I’m loving the fact that the weather is being quite compatible with my wardrobe these days. Before it goes unpredictable again, I’m trying to wear all the knits and jackets so I can happily step into the summer phase without any regrets of not using all the wintry stuff I have in my closet.
I’m wearing one of my favorite winter tops with a pair of denim shorts. I threw on a reindeer necklace to glam up the look. Few days ago I had shared my obsession for orange and coral tones and this new satchel is only an extension of it. The look is very casual and fun. Something I would wear to a movie or when going to simply hang out with friends.
Today I’m totally craving Ohris' Awful- awful and I hope I can go grab a big tub of it topped with extra nuts. Heading out now!

Hope you like the look! Have a great weekend!

SHE’S A SUPERSTAR

FEATURING

Dress- Noisy May | Clutch - Old | Lace-up Boots - Gifted

There are days when you don’t want to put in a lot of effort dressing up and still look dressed up. This is one such day for me when I’m feeling a bit lazy. This dress has been hanging in my wardrobe with its’ tag intact for the longest time (guess for more than a year and a half) for no apparent reason and it finally got lucky today. It may look like I actually dressed up here whereas I did not take more than ten minutes to head out the door. The idea is to throw on a simple dress in your favorite color- for me it’s black, wear your comfiest neat-looking shoes, put on your favorite lipstick and a really cool pair of sunglasses. I think a good pair of sunglasses can always be your savior and amp up your look instantly.
I’ve been on a look out for a pair of round black sunglasses for a while and I was so excited when the beautiful people at propshop24 sent these in along with a cute notebook and a lovely hand written note. Really sweet of them! The store has the most amazing collection of sunglasses (Wish I could buy them all). They also have some really cool stationary, kitchen & dining, home accessories and lot more. You can check out their stuff on their website and follow them on  Instagram. They're also running a discount till the the 15th of Jan. So you don't want to miss this!

Hope you liked the look.

Have a happy beautiful week!

NIRVANA
- BEAUTY | REVIEW-

Featuring

Photos by Nada Firdaus & Naznin Suhaer | Creative Direction, Styling, Modelling & Editing by Naznin Suhaer

First post of this year and I feel elevated and excited to present this piece of work to you. Or if I may say so, it wasn’t ‘work’ actually. After taking up projects back-to-back and over-working, last month I realized how important it was to slow down and take a deep breath. When O2 spa invited me to review their brand new outlet at Jubilee Hills, I was glad to give myself a little treat of relaxation at the end of the year. Was much much needed! It was quite surprising to see this little paradise located in such a busy place.
I had the pleasure of experiencing two luxuriating services at their spa- An Aromatherapy Massage and an Organic Facial. I chose the ‘Relaxation Massage’ out of the five sub-categories of the Aromatherapy Massage ( Jetlag Eliminator, Anti-Cellulite, Relaxation, Detoxifier, Stress-Buster) ; each one uses a different aroma oil designed to treat you as per your requirement. The Relaxation Massage uses a mix of lavender and ylang- ylang oil which works well in de-stressing, relaxing and inducing sleep. The masseuse gave me a very relaxing treatment for 60 minutes and my skin surely felt soft, radiant and beautiful after.
The second treatment was the Organic Facial. Honestly, I’m not much into getting facials done at parlors for the products they use to enhance your skin tone temporarily or even permanently. I’ve always relied on the old grandma secrets to keep the skin healthy, soft and blemish-free. However, I really wanted to try this one since I’ve been quite complacent with my skincare routine off-late and wanted a treatment that would make my skin glow and made me feel reinvigorated.  The products used contained extracts of Pomegranate, rich in Vitamin A and C that are known to help in removing old skin cells while softening and soothing the skin. The treatment started with a deep-cleansing process using a cleanser and a polishing scrub, followed by toning and a massage with gentle strokes, finishing with a hydrating serum masque and a skin- refining masque. The treatment did not make any false promises of making my skin perfect and which was not even the reason to get it done, but my skin felt really smooth, soft and free of dead cells. A lovely experience it was.
O2 is definitely a place to visit to forget about the everyday hustle for a day and connect with your soul, to pamper your skin and enjoy a no-work day. The place even has options to take the spa treatment with your loved one J. Also makes a great gifting option. You can find out more about their services and book your appointments here. They have some great discounts and offers going on right now!

Hope you liked this post! More coming up on I Dress for the Applause in 2016! Stay tuned!

Black Top - Miss Bennett | Skirt - Lara Karen | Shoes –Lavie | Clutch - Paprika

Few hours to go for the New Year to ring in and I’ve mixed feelings about how this year went as I lay on my couch and think about it. If I’m to be honest, the year hasn’t been too kind to me. The deadlines, staying up till late to finish work, grueling shoots and sometimes not enough support to get work done. However, it has taught me a couple of things - to be more flexible, hope for the best but be prepared for everything when things don't go according to plans, to let go, to be stronger than I was yesterday, to work towards your goals no matter how many people believe or don’t believe in you. Your goals are yours and you know how things are done if you want to reach your destination (even if you’re not sure what that destination it is). Though I’m a very practical person and a firm believer in hard work, over the years, I’ve reconciled to the fact that everything you need will come to you only at the right time, provided you don’t give up and keep working harder and smarter each day. When things get tough, there is always scope and hope for things to get better. It may take time, but if there is anything that pulls you out of your bed every morning despite all the challenges you’re facing, keep going. Don’t give up.
New Year brings in new energy. A chance to start things afresh. To open a new diary, leaving the bad behind and carrying all the good things forward. And as I start writing my goals for 2016, health and well being top my list (something I’ve been very negligent about this year). Resolutions are not meant to be broken and following a healthy diet plan, exercise and sleep is something I will need to strictly keep reminding myself about. Also, going on a digital detox- staying away from my laptop & phone for a couple of days is much much needed.
Keeping it less fussy, I’m wearing a black blingy top along with a dash of some kick-ass red lipstick for the New Year’s Eve. With a renewed spirit and a fresh mind, I look forward to 2016. Bring it on!

CASTLE IN THE SNOW
- EDITORIAL-

Photography by Nikkhil Bareli | Concept, Styling, Modelling, Editing & Artwork by Naznin Suhaer

So happy that my most favorite part of the year is finally here. Everything looks so pretty and beautiful around this time. The colorful lights, Christmas tree, the cute stockings, mistletoe and so much red. I remember reading Christmas stories as a kid with colorful pictures, lots of snow, the big moon and Santa on a sleigh with his team of reindeer flying in the sky, carrying gifts for children in his sack . So fascinating! I was intrigued like every other kid to know if Santa would really come. And today as well, my eyes fill with joy and excitement as I wait for him to shower me with everything on my secret wishlist- (atleast few if not everything). Lot of love and happiness apart from the tangible things.
Creating this post was super fun and really brought out the kid in me making me frolic around in my cutest red jumper and chrismas-y socks.
I worked with Nikkhil again after this post (the most beautiful story created on I Dress for the Applause this year) and the fact that we know each other’s style of work makes it an even more enjoyable experience for us every time.
I’m having a lovely time sitting in my bed having the yummiest cakes and cookies and listening to Christmas Waltz. Such a pretty song! I would recommend you all to listen to it while viewing this post.

Hope you are having a wonderful time! Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
